We

tumble out of night
leaving the clouds unmade
to slip into morning’s breeze

sip our first cup of dew
from dripping trees

grow silent
for a while
and another

and when the sun is naked
make love to the sound of the sky
Earth beating beneath us

We

bask
in the afterglow of rivers
where mountains fade to honey

until it’s time
to slip into sunset
with a blanket of kisses

our limbs tangled with life
