Cracked

I thought I wanted to die
Until death came to my breast
And ripped holy crosses from my heart
Burning, burning so quick
Beating, beating so loud
Mortality screaming through my womb
This cannot be my end
Reproduce life
Life in excess
Leave no egg
Unhatched
Crack me open
Over the kitchen counter
Give me life
I ache to be filled
With the light of a thousand sunbeams
I beg to explode
And be baptized by the pouring rain
Let the windows shatter
The water pouring through
My open throbbing heart
Let me hear that I am
Alive
Let me see that I am
Alive
Let me know that I am
Alive
And when you’ve filled me up
Let me bleed out the excess waters
Of humanity’s scornful lovers
Let me die
Knowing
I have lived
Every
Single
Life
