For The Strong Ones
It’s ok to feel, too.
You’ve always been told that you’re tough. That you’re strong. That there is something within you that can withstand the trials and tribulations of life. That God has bestowed this upon you because it is written in the stars. That you can handle it — that you are made of something more magical than stardust.
You are strength personified.
Usually, you wear that like a badge of honor. You are proud of all that you have withstood. You are proud of what you can handle. You are proud of all that you can do, and all that you will do, and all the things that you continue to weather with grace and strength and the fire of a thousand suns.
And yet…
Even you have times when even you are weary. Even you have times, times when even you need a break. There are times when even you need to lay your head down and shut your eyes, times when you need to scream and yell and shake your fists at the sky. There are times when you feel as though your heart will burst out of your chest, and all you want to do is cry.
When that happens, I hope you know that you’re allowed to cry.
I hope you know that you’re allowed to let the tears fall.
I hope you know that you’re allowed to be sad, and to be depressed, and to feel…
