In nostalgic light
dwells a honeyed sorrow
discrete as slip of wing
in the whole of abject sky
full of bewitching rays
staining my eyes
between midday and night
green as gold
where heart craves
to haunt inside
and unravel like foliage
knit in amber-hued afternoon
becoming more exquisite
like song nearing end
the chorus of blue
taking all of me with it
this nectar of falling
past threshold of day

If only I could be
an ember unending
in the gleam of it all
