I am an old lady as far as the Internet is concerned.

I was an adult when computers hit mainstream use.

Computers meaning Windows OS, the slick designs of today, not the clunky machines we typed laborious pages of code into, just to be rewarded with a grainy butterfly graphic.

Looking back, I am struck dumb at how brilliant today’s toddlers are.

Give one any digital device?

A tot will figure out seemingly instantaneously how to use it without any adult help.

I was 23 years old when I first used the newish thing out there called “the Internet”. I stood in line for 45 minutes at the local library and was allotted 15 minutes.

I remember being somewhat nervous and a little intimidated.

I had used WordPerfect. This was a far cry from that.

I spent half of my allotted time figuring out how to actually “go” online, being too proud to ask for help.
