Big Bang
Tiny singularity
Hot and dense
Expansion, inflation, magnitudinous growth spurt
Cooling and slowing
Incredible collisions making way
For dancing light to emerge
From vast darkness which cannot easily be understood
Galaxies swirling like the lone curl
Adorning and resting on top of
A baby’s globular head

God’s Mighty Hand
Across a vacuous canvas
Labor of creation
Six days of designing
Warrant the seventh for rest
Sublime panoply
Of Earthly and Heavenly contents
To fill hearts and minds with wonder
Birthing curiosity of the world’s majestic surroundings
As a child who opens his eyes to discovery
For the very first time

Super Computer Simulation
Virtual reality in a carefully constructed game
Where the players are unaware
Of the roles they play
For otherworldly creatures
Looking for entertainment
As they feast eyes upon the complex web
Of connections formed in space and time
As the newborn learns of his
Powers to manipulate immediate surroundings
With each tiny movement mastered

The greatest minds debate and study
In scholarly earnest to understand
From whence the Universe came
The alluring desire to explain
The greatest mystery of all:
How did it all begin?

For me, I know the answer
As I have been so lucky to bear witness
The beginning of my entire Universe
As labor pains brought forth
The ultimate creation

The starting point of my world
Unable to describe
In spiritual, scientific, mathematic, philosophical jargon
But I have experienced the exact day and time
My Universe sprung forth
A bit earlier than expected

And so I leave the theorizing
Of universal cosmic explanation
To minds greater than my own —
But I have seen it all
When my Universe was born

I have felt the wholeness
Of holding my Universe in my arms
I have kissed the cheek, caressed the head, and gazed into the eyes
Consisting of more stars than all galaxies combined
Of my Universe
I have been overwhelmed by the power
Of tiny little fingers wrapped around mine
As my Universe held on

I have seen it all
And with great confidence I declare,
I know the answer
As to how the Universe began
