The Journey

Standing on the riverbank
a web of paths spread
out from this moment
into innumerable futures

Which way will you make your own?
Which journey calls your name?

Calls you into becoming,
into that future self
that stands already, even now
awaiting your arrival

Some are beautiful and terrible
Some are rich with tears
Some may bring you to the depths
of darkness and despair

And some will lead you out again
into the dazzling light of new dawn

where you may discover that
the one who entered
is not the one who stands
blinking, even now

beside another river
paths spreading
out from that new day
into innumerable futures

Your journey
begins here
in this moment
under this sky

As it begins also
in every moment

Wherever you may stand
every fleeting minute
is an invitation
to find yourself
exactly where you are
exactly where you need to be
in this moment
that is perfect
in every single way

An invitation
into the journey of becoming
that begins only and always
exactly where you are
