On October 15, 2021, the Campbell Law Innovation Insitute launched its operations. Over 140 people attended from as far away as China and Nigeria.

The launch event for the CLII featured a keynote presentation by Professor Daniel Rodriguez, the Director of the ABA Center on Innovation (2018–2020), and former Dean of Northwestern University, Pritzker School of Law. The keynote will be followed by a talk by Ed Walters, the founder, and CEO of FastCase. And, a second featured a talk on Human-Centered Design by Tsai Lu Lui, who is a professor and department head at the North Carolina State College of Design. Following Professor Liu’s talk will be a panel discussion that will bring together the leaders of innovation initiatives at many leading law schools across the country: Daniel Linna (Northwestern), Nicole Morris (Emory), Amy Stein (University of Florida), David Colarusso (Suffolk University), and April Dawson (North Carolina Central University). The panel discussion will be led by Jeff Cox (UniCourt).
