The fundraising stages of your ICO: How to make the most of them

PRIVATE SALE or INSTITUTIONAL ROUND: This is the first investment offer. It is your opportunity to attract early investors. This phase could be distinguished as a sale of tokens that is not open to the public or not announced. You may pitch your project to crypto funds, VCs, and angel investors.

The deadlines for the implementation of the idea, the necessary amount for this, the emission of tokens should be announced. To do this, create a separate website or presentation. At this stage, investors can buy tokens with a maximum discount (sometimes up to 50%) and on more flexible conditions, which you’ll need to announce.

PRE-ICO or PRE-SALE is an investment attraction even before the start of the ICO itself for its implementation. During presale, the cost of tokens is traditionally lower than at ICO, but already higher than at Private Sale.

Some projects choose just one market and try to make some hype with minimum funds invested. If you manage to raise 1–2 million or more during this stage then you are ready to move further.

Various bonuses or discounts may be offered based on how early you contribute, and how large the contribution is. Investors receive bonuses and discounts. Many investors see this stage as potentially profitable. They get tokens at a low cost, and then sell them as soon as the coins start to be traded on exchanges. This is a form of short-term investment.

This stage is usually considered to be a testing run to identify the shortcomings of the upcoming ICO. To do this, the ICO imposes restrictions on the sale of tokens at the presale stage. If there is no restriction on the sale of issued tokens on a pre-sale, then all of them may be sold and the ICO may not even take place.

CROWDSALE or TOKENSALE is the main stage in coin sales, the ICO itself. Initially, a startup offers investors tokens for purchase on their platform (on the site). Later, sales are launched on public cryptocurrency exchanges. The entry of an ICO startup token to the stock exchange is considered to be the proof of validity of the project, but this does not guarantee its success in the long term.

At this stage, it is worth thinking about listing on exchanges in order for you to raise capital and raise awareness of your product.
