You need a haircut.
We tried to do something online that should be simple: book a quick haircut, but couldn’t find it. So we added it to Assist.
There are estimated to be 440,000 barbers in the United States. There are approximately 210,000 beauty salons. Think for a moment, and tell us which app you would download to make an appointment? So of course we here at Assist looked around and are like — it’s just a haircut…this should be easy. Not so much. (In fact, if you search the App Store for “haircut” you will get mostly apps which will add a hairdo onto a photo. Really.)
On our website at Assist, it says “Do you need an entire app for that?” In this case it was, “Do you need an entire appt for that?”
Once again, we did our best to find a service — this time — quick haircuts.
From a scheduling standpoint, this use case is interesting. For most quick serve haircuts like Great Clips and SuperCuts, they use a queuing system. Your name goes on a list, and you have 45 minutes or so to arrive, or lose your place in line. It’s simple, and they only require you to give your first name and phone number. No account needed. This is a great example of offering convenience without making people create entire accounts. It works even better via Assist.
Get a haircut today on SMS (text 23232),Facebook Messenger, Slack, and Telegram. Simply text CUT to Assist.
