[Press] THE ASTA Korea signs partnership with WebBeds
THE ASTA Korea (CEO Seungho Choi) announced its partnership with WebBeds, a subsidiary of Webjet Limited on 20th May, 2021.
Through this partnership agreement, 600 more hotels including The Shilla Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Banyan Tree, etc. are available on THE ASTA for booking.
WebBeds is a subsidiary of Webjet Limited, an ASX listed company operating digital travel business with over KRW 3 trillion in total turnover as of 2019.
WebBeds, headquartered in Dubai with regional offices across 11 countries in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, has grown rapidly since its establishment in 2013 and now is the second largest B2B hotel wholesaler in the world. By closely connected to over 250,000 hotels around the world, WebBeds provides a global network to its international hotel partners.
With this agreement, THE ASTA Korea will provide a wider variety of domestic hotel options for users, along with a 50% discount rate by using ASTA token for payment. While THE ASTA is a blockchain-based platform based on the value exchange between the cryptocurrency and the fiat currency in the real economy.
Currently, customer can buy mobile voucher of over 2200 products of 76 popular brands on ASTA Voucher Mall and vouchers can be used in over 104,000 stores.
Mobile voucher of various franchises such as coffee & beverages (Starbucks, Pascucci, etc.), bakery (Paris Baguette, Baskin Robbins, Dunkin’ Donuts, etc.) can be purchased at a 20~50% discount.
The person in charge of THE ASTA stated that by signing the partnership agreement with WebBeds, the cryptocurreny payment service platform is planning to establish itself as an expert and leader in the field by expanding its service area. In the future, we are preparing to develop into a global brand by selling air tickets and providing overseas hotel & resort options on THE ASTA.
Meanwhile, THE ASTA is a travel agency established by Korfin Holdings by joining hands with other local companies in July 2020. By utilizing the blockchain technology on payment and marketing, Korfin Holdings’s goal is to attract domestic and foreign tourists and further expand its cryptocurrency payment system. THE ASTA is the only blockchain-based platform in Korea allowing users to purchase accommodation & travel products with cryptocurrency.
The platform is now offering special offer on Book & Life cash coupons starting from 24 May (Mon) to 31 May (Mon). Customers can convert the cash coupons into credit on the Book & Life website and use the credit for online payment on over 600 brands.
