Announcing Shiden Network, a Kusama Parachain of Plasm Network

Hello everyone. I am Sota Watanabe, the founder of Plasm Network. Plasm Network is a dApps hub on Polkadot that supports both Ethereum Virtual Machine and WebAssembly. And today, we are excited to announce Shiden Network, a canary network of Plasm. We will deploy the network on Kusama. We will deploy this network as soon as possible so that dApps developers can build dApps on Shiden Network before becoming a Kusama Parachain and earn SDN tokens.
What is Shiden Network?
Shiden Network is a canary network that acts as an R&D chain of Plasm Network. PLM token holders can claim SDN tokens, the native token of Shiden Network, at a 1:1 ratio. We will launch this network as soon as possible and test the following things.
- Parachain Auction: one of the initial goals of Shiden Network is to become a Kusama Parachain. We will distribute 30% of SDN tokens to KSM lockdrop participants (Parachain Lease Offering) with a vesting period.
- “Lockdrops” means that participants who joined our previous ETH lockdrop and who successfully claimed the PLM tokens can get SDN tokens at the Shiden Network genesis.
- Plasm Network Portal: we will soon disclose a Plasm Network portal. This portal is a tool for dApps developers and PLM token holders to stake PLM, earn PLM, and deploy applications.
- Ethereum Bridge: we have implemented Ethereum Virtual Machine, ECDSA, Ethereum RPC, Metamask integration, Truffle integration, and Remix integration. As a next step, we will work on the Ethereum bridge so that Plasm Network will become a fully Ethereum compatible blockchain that has Ethereum compatible layer2 protocols. Ethereum compatibility is not unique since every Parachain can implement it by importing Parity Frontier, just like Acala and Moonbeam. We believe that if we could build both the Ethereum bridge and layer2 on the Plasm Network, this will be a massive advantage.
Shiden Network Schedule
Currently, we plan to fork Plasm Network and launch Shiden Network in the middle of February after finishing PoS implementations. After that, we will enable token transfers and conduct redenomination. Also, we plan to launch the Plasm Network Portal by the end of February. You can deploy both Solidity and ink! contracts on Shiden Network through this portal and earn SDN tokens.
Kusama Parachain Auction
Today, we are technically ready to join the Kusama auction and build dApps hub on Kusama. To become one of the first Kusama Parachains, we will conduct a KSM lockdrop.
KSM holders can directly participate in the auction from our portal. All you need to do is connect your Polkadot.js extension to the portal, select the locking amount and click on “Deposit.”
We are also discussing with top tier1 exchanges to host our auction together so that KSM holders at the exchanges can join us easily.
