06/01/2022 — With the upcoming DOT Festival it is important for everyone to register for the AstarPass and understand the benefits it brings to you and Astar. In short, AstarPass simply maps your native account (ss58) to your EVM account (H160).
Yes, yes… the AstarPass is a requirement to be eligible for a share of the upcoming 6M $ASTR bonus rewards. That itself is exciting. But AstarPass is important to building the future of WASM and EVM–seamlessly integrating the two chains. Astar projects can execute smart contracts on EVM, while offering exclusive perks in your Native wallet. Or, maybe providing liquidity to a Polkadot project on Astar Hub will earn LP providers additional rewards in the associated EVM address. We are opening the door to a number of new possibilities.
It’s a flexible tool that pushes the limits of Web3 as we know it — making our ecosystem the hub to build and deploy all smart contracts.
