Shiden wins the third auction on Kusama with over 138k KSM contributed during the Crowdloan! Over 4300 enthusiasts joined the Crowdloan and will be rewarded with Shiden native token $SDN. Thanks for all the support!
It all started in April 2019. Plasm Network was born (now Astar Network). After two years of intense developments, two successful lockdrops, delivering 5 of 6 grants from Web3 Foundation and building a strong community. Shiden Network successfully becomes a parachain on Kusama and producing its first blocks. Becoming a parachain wasn't possible without our community, investors, and trust in our development path.
Multi-Chain dApp Hub on Kusama
Our goal for Shiden Network is to build the premier multi-chain smart contract platform on Kusama Network that supports Ethereum Virtual Machine, WebAssembly, and Layer2 solutions. Kusama Relaychain does not support smart contract functionality by design, so Kusama Network needs a smart contract layer. This is where Shiden Network comes in. Shiden supports Ethereum Virtual Machine, WebAssembly, and Layer2 solutions from day one. The platform supports various applications like DeFi, NFTs, Oracles, and so much more.
What Makes Shiden Unique?
Multi Chain: building bridges to various ecosystems. (Ethereum, Secret Network, Cosmos, and so on).
dApp STaking (Basic Income for Developers): SDN token holders can stake their tokens on favorite dApps so that both nominators and the dApps developer can earn SDN tokens.
Multi Virtual Machine: Shiden natively supports both EVM and WASM. With Cross-Virtual Machine communications, EVM contracts can interact with WASM contracts in our ecosystem.
Shiden Network can upgrade without hard forks to integrate new features or fix bugs. This is a core feature for parachains in Kusama. This capability enables Shiden Network to easily adapt to changes and upgrade itself as better finished developments become available. As soon we are launched as parachain, Shiden will be just a shell. When we roll out our roadmap slowly, as demonstrated here:
Another great launch to be excited about is the launch of the Astar Network portal. Astar portal will be released begin July. On the portal, you can select Shiden parachain and use the following features:
- Wallet for your SDN tokens
- Token transactions
- dApp staking
- Staking on collators
- Deploying dApps
How to deploy your dApps on Shiden
- Visit our documentation. Learn how Shiden Network works and how to deploy smart contracts.
- Shiden Network supports both EVM and WASM. Choose a virtual machine that is suitable for your team and your use case.
- Compile the contract and deploy it on Dusty. If you are trying to deploy Solidity smart contracts, you have 2 ways to compile your smart contract: using Ethereum tools like Hardhat, Remix, Truffle, or using Solang (a Solidity to WASM compiler). After compiling your contract, you can deploy it on our testnet, Dusty Network. If you want to deploy WASM smart contracts, you can use our portal or deploy connected to our parachain through polkadot.js.
- Deploy on Shiden. After successful development on Dusty, you can now deploy your contract on Shiden.

Building the premier multi-chain smart contract platform on Kusama Network
Shiden Network is a multi-chain decentralized application layer on Kusama Network. Kusama Relaychain does not support smart contract functionality by design. Kusama Network needs a smart contract layer. This is where Shiden Network comes in. Shiden supports Ethereum Virtual Machine, WebAssembly, and Layer2 solutions from day one. The platform supports various applications like DeFi, NFTs, and more.
Astar Network is a dApps hub on Polkadot that supports Ethereum and layer 2 solutions like ZK Rollups. Plasm aims to be a multi-chain smart contract platform that will support multiple blockchains and virtual machines like EVM and WASM.
