Gemini Season 2022: Wonder Twin Powers Activate

On May 20, 2022 at 10:27 PM EST, the Sun enters Gemini — sign of The Twins — as we enter the third and final phase of the spring season. We leave behind earthy and sensual Taurus, and begin a month in airy and mentally-oriented Gemini.

The month starts out with an extra emphasis on communications, as retrograde Mercury makes its inferior conjunction with the Sun and initiates a new cycle. This is Mercury’s “Promethean” phase, symbolized by Mercury’s shift from the evening star to the morning star. This is a time in which our minds are enhanced with new visions and we are eager to explore new creative endeavors.

This will be amplified by the fact that this is occurring just as the Sun moves into mental Gemini, the sign of Mercury’s rulership. We can expect gregarious encounters with new people, intellectually stimulating new perspectives, and an abundance of new social opportunities. But we must be mindful we don’t get overcommitted, overextended or overstimulated during this time — there will be many fun and alluring distractions vying for our attention.
