DreamHack Winter 2014

Jönköping, Sweden once again became the home of DreamHack, the world’s biggest LAN party, last weekend.

DreamHack Winter 2014 pulled in more than 25,000 people over four days filled with cosplay and contests, indie game demos, online competitions and live concerts. Sounds like geek paradise on Earth to me.

The event is a bimonthly affair which takes place once in the summer and again in the winter, with the latter being the bigger of the two. It not only has set records for the biggest event of it’s kind worldwide, but also for having the fastest internet connection for its attendants.

This is the kind of joint that makes me think about making a column about cool events that you should see if you’re backpacking across the globe. Thoughts?
