The Amazing UI Design of Evangelion

I recently started rewatching the Rebuild of Evangelion remakes in glorious HD and I got giddy with excitement at looking all the amazing design choices in the first few films, not least of which was the UI design at the NERV headquarters.

The simple geometric shapes and fast-paced animation works very well for all of these and the fact they were based on basic graphic data solutions like the Venn diagram or the Gauss curvature means that someone actually researched this before trying to sell it to the viewer in a scene, which is even more awesome.
