Today I’ll be shining the spotlight on the Calumet Heights neighborhood and showing you why it’s so special.

Located on the southeast side of Chicago, Calumet Heights is close to parks, a major highway, and the Indiana border. The neighborhood stands out with its mid-century modern architecture, and the homes are well-maintained and nestled in manicured lots. Even better, these homes are surprisingly affordable and have low property taxes.

The appreciation in other areas in Chicago has been impacted by property taxes, and demand has slowed down quite a bit. Calumet Heights, however, has seen significant price appreciation. The median price on move-in-ready homes has increased 4% over the last year, but they’re still a great value.

While the neighborhood is visually stunning, transportation is also fantastic. In addition to the nearby highway, a bus line that winds through the area makes it easy to traverse the city. Its close proximity to Indiana makes it easy for people to commute across state lines for work.

Calumet Heights offers a great way to live in a well-maintained home that retains its original charm and interior. My own family is moving into the neighborhood later this year, and we’re putting the finishing touches on it as we speak. We couldn’t be more excited.

If you have any questions or would like more information about Calumet Heights, feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
