Bringing off-chain governance and MEV Minimization to the scalable protocol

Delighted to share that Automata Network is live on Polygon bringing its privacy-first tooling solutions to the scalable protocol; the first being off-chain, private governance via Witness. A voting service with zero gas fees, communities can create and vote on proposals with ease by connecting their wallets and the governance tokens contained within on Witness. Automata will also offer support to DEXes (“decentralized exchanges”) based on Polygon with Conveyor, an MEV Minimization solution.

For an introduction, Automata Network is a decentralized service protocol that provides privacy middleware for dApps across the Web3 ecosystem. As Polygon continues to work towards a full-fledged and versatile developer environment for projects building on its scalable architecture, the integration of Witness and Conveyor will boost its developer experience on the privacy front.

“As one of the most active blockchain protocols, we’re always looking to engage and support our developer community in the ways that matter. In that regard, privacy has been, and will continue to be one of the salient features of the Web3 economy, and we appreciate the opportunity to onboard Automata to address the pragmatic needs of projects as they grow.”

— Sandeep Nailwal, Co-Founder of Polygon

Creating a more private and user-friendly iteration of the current governance model is part of the origin story for Witness. Users can choose and adjust the final voting results between various privacy levels, leveraging on Chainhook for on-chain execution of the contract registered at the proposal stage. Conveyor, on the other hand, aims to tackle the thorny issue of MEV (“Miner Extractable Value”) by ordering transactions in a fair and determined sequence, with the result of a front-running-free zone.

“Particularly in distributed systems we see the need to make privacy part of the protocol design such that it remains effective, secure, and middleware solutions hit that sweet spot where projects can easily benefit from — and adopt — technical innovation without any of the accompanying hassle. We’re tremendously proud of the traction that the team has achieved, and hope to continue this trajectory.”

About Polygon
Polygon is the first well-structured, easy-to-use platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Its core component is Polygon SDK, a modular, flexible framework that supports building and connecting Secured Chains like Plasma, Optimistic Rollups, zkRollups, Validium, etc, and Standalone Chains like Polygon POS, designed for flexibility and independence. Polygon’s scaling solutions have seen widespread adoption with 450+ Dapps, 350M+ txns, and ~13.5M+ distinct users.
