“Last year’s devastating disasters and mass casualty incidents revealed the strength, dedication, and willingness of the EMS community to come to together, across the nation, in a time of dire need to aid our country,” says Dr. Paul D. Kivela, president, ACEP. “Now, more than ever, we must come together and honor the sacrifices that the EMS community makes by increasing awareness and finding opportunities to protect and pursue the interests of our nation’s EMS professionals.”

As most of you know, the week of May 21–25, 2018 was nationally recognized as this year’s “EMS Week”. We hope each and every medic felt appreciated and valued — you’re our everyday heroes and your hard work, dedication, and sacrifices do not go unnoticed! Here are a few of our favorite moments and highlights over the last few days…

ATCEMS Recruiting gave out cookies, health bars, and treats to our medics around the city during EMS Week.
St. David’s and P.Terry’s kicked off Day 1 of EMS Week the right way — with a generous lunch and a quick photo break!
Lined up and ready for lunch! Thanks P.Terry’s and St.David’s!

ATCEMS Recruiting went around Austin (pictured top right and bottom left at Dell Seton Medical Center) and passed out treats to our Medics, thanking them for being the true heroes and having some fun with superhero photo ops!

Superhero or Medic??? Who can tell???
Our Medics were honored to receive a special message from Tom Ridge, former Governor of Pennsylvania and US Secretary of Homeland Security.

Once again, THANK YOU to all the men and women who serve in EMS and a special thank you to our very own ATCEMS Medics who serve the community in and around Austin. Your hard work, commitment, and passion for this career choice is not lost on us — you are valued! And thank you to our local hospitals for going above and beyond and making the medics feel appreciated with your generous food, snacks, and EMS Week treats.
