ATCEMS receives 200+ applications during each hiring process. With a small staff, it takes time and attention to detail to ensure the review process is done timely and accurately. Applications will not undergo review until both a full application and all required documents have been submitted. Once they are received, Recruiting will begin the review process. This step in the process can take up to 2 weeks to complete. Make sure to check out these things to know!

The most IMPORTANT step in applying for a position with ATCEMS:

Submitting ALL required documents!

Applications are considered incomplete until ALL required documents have been uploaded on or before the application deadline. There are no exceptions made!

Keep in mind:

Documents must be in .doc or .pdf formats ONLY
(Please convert any image files to .doc or .pdf file types prior to uploading)

  • DO NOT upload additional documents, pages (ex. driver’s license, social security cards, CPR cards, etc.), or blank documents
  • DO NOT mail in documents. Hard copies of documents will NOT be accepted by Recruiting.

Required Documents:

All of the following documents are necessary and required to process your application.

Certification

  • A copy of your current Texas Department of State Health Services, out-of-state, or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B), AEMT, Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic certification.

Driving Record(s)

  • A certified copy of your current driving record for the last 3 years or from the date you were originally licensed (dated within 30 days of document submission or the application deadline date). If you are or were licensed in Texas within the last 3 years, you must submit a Certified Abstract Driving Record (Type AR).
  • If you are an out-of-state applicant, you must submit a certified driving record history from your state driver’s licensing agency. When requesting this type of driving record from your state agency, you should emphasize that you need to order the type of certified driving record that reflects ALL entries, going back to the date you were originally issued a driver’s license.
  • If you are waiting on a certified copy to be released to you, you MUST provide a copy of your receipt and/or confirmation of payment by the application deadline (in place of the driving record). This will be accepted as a good faith effort until the certified driving record is received. Certified Driving Record(s) must be received and verified by Recruiting before the background phase of the hiring process in order to continue to the next phase. Re-visit the Document Upload Portal to upload your certified driving record and contact Recruiting to ensure the document is received.
  • If you held a driver’s license in multiple states within the last 3 years, you must submit a certified driving record from each state in which a license was held.

DD-214 for Military only

  • A copy of your Military DD-214 (Member-4) is required if you were enlisted or served in any US Military Branch regardless the length of service. Military applicants must submit their DD-214 by the application deadline.
