Atento Capital was founded with the mission of generating above market risk-adjusted returns while also creating quality jobs in Tulsa. We do so with a strong eye towards diversity and upward mobility for people of all backgrounds. This mission is the very foundation Atento is built on, and influences everything we do from our hiring to our deal sourcing and everything in between. Many venture firms aren’t in the business of developing very early high potential founders. For the most part they let accelerators and business schools handle that. However at Atento, we’re in the unique position to not only invest the best and brightest founders, but to also help them build scalable and lasting businesses.

That’s why today we’re announcing our EIR (Entrepreneur-In-Residence) role at Atento. This is a role that equips entrepreneurs over 12–18 months with mentorship, networking opportunities, office space, and investment (between $100K to $250K) to succeed at the earliest stage. Prior to an investment, candidates will spend a minimum of 8 sessions working with the Atento Entrepreneurial Development Team to refine their ideas before submission to the EIR role and receiving a potential investment.

The investment will be in the form of a convertible note at a $1.5 million cap. This may not make sense to you at this stage in your entrepreneurial journey, so we will explain to you what that means if you do not know going into it.

Who are we looking for?

You have a problem that you absolutely must solve. You must do it so badly that you cannot sleep at night, you find yourself talking about it with every person you are having a meal or coffee with. You cannot stop thinking about it, and will be kicking yourself forever if you do not take a swing on solving this problem. You will do whatever it takes to build a company to solve this problem, working relentlessly at it, through seemingly impossible obstacles, unknown challenges, and all sorts of unknowns. You have a strong hypothesis, but also take feedback well, and are not afraid to change direction on a whim, if that is what the best information you have in front of you dictates you to do.

We want founders who are coachable, possess conviction over arrogance, are highly-adaptable, resourceful, willing to explore failure and seek to consistently know more about the market within which they operate than anyone else. Lastly, you must be Tulsa based or be willing to relocate to Tulsa. Founders of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, but we are especially interested in working with founders of diverse backgrounds. If all this resonates with you, we want to talk to you and learn more about what you’re building.
