Amarkantak in Sanskrit means the “Eternal Source”, also known as TirthRaj (King of all Pilgrimages), and is sited in the Maikal Mountains and encircled by the Grandeur of Vindhya & Satpura Range in Madhya Pradesh. It is at the Height of 1050 Meters. Also, This heavenly spot is known for meeting of the two Great and Holy Rivers, the Narmada and the Sone, that describes many Myths or Stories about the History of Amarkantak.
Peoples Trusts that the infamous Poet of Sanskrit, Kaalidas, given the name “Amrakoot” to this place, as this place consists of uncountable Mango (Amra) Trees.

By Air : The nearest airport of Amarkantak is in Jabalpur, which is at the distance of around 255 Km. One must have to Hire a Cab or Taxi directly from the Airport to Amarkantak.

By Rail : The nearest Railway Station is on the Pendra Road, which is probably around 20 Km away from the Holy Town, Amarkantak.

By Road : One can go for State Buses to reach Amarkantak from Pendra Road, Shahdol, Bilaspur and the connecting City Jabalpur and Rewa.
