NOTE: Please take the above video with a grain of salt and some critical thinking. Being repulsed by specific genitals is not unilaterally transphobic. Saying that you’re a straight man, but wouldn’t date a transwoman, for example, would be transphobic. However, if you say that you’re a straight man, and don’t feel comfortable dating people with the same genitalia as you? That’s not necessarily transphobic. This video is a great ice-breaker on the topic, but is not necessarily as nuanced as I would like, as a rape survivor who can understand why someone may be repulsed by certain anatomy due to trauma; please understand that this is a short piece on a complex topic.
