Isabel, what you’ve done is bring humanity, tangibility and reality to an issue that is simply abstract for most parents. By establishing common ground that all parents share, at least in concept — having happy, healthy children leading fulfilling lives — you’ve made a seemingly complicated issue very simple and straightforward, which it is, absent fear and ignorance. Your plain-spoken narrative is one that should be applied not only to the issue of bathroom choice, which is extremely important and where the right answer is so obvious, to other pitched conflicts across the political spectrum — say healthcare and immigration, for example. You’ve used the tools of education and empathy to persuade, and have done so with grace, dignity and passion.

Keep writing, keep sharing and keep advocating, because you are great at it. Thank you.
