91% of sexual assault victims are female, 9% are male.

One in five women and one in 71 men will be raped at some point in their lives in the United States.

Nearly half of multiracial women in America have had some sexual violence in their lifetime.

27% of college women experience unwanted sexual advances.

81% of women and 35% of men report some kind of PTSD.

96% of child abusers are male.

“It’s a scary time for young men in America”, said a man.

46% of bisexual women report being raped in their lifetime.

64% of trans people experience sexual assault in their lifetime.

60% of African American girls experience sexual abuse by age 18.

African American women are subjected to sexual violence at a 35% higher rate than white women.

The poor are 12 times likely to be sexually assaulted compared to the wealthy.

“It’s a scary time for young men in America”, said a straight wealthy white man.

63% of sexual assault cases go unreported.

More than 90% of campus sexual assault cases go unreported.

2–7% of the reported cases have been identified as false claims.

57% of sexual violence perpetrators are white.

99% of the perpetrators of sexual violence walk free.

“It’s a scary time for young men in America”, said a man who raped his first wife and boasted about grabbing pussies.

A staggering number of men stand in solidarity with this notion of victimization of young men in America.

An equally staggering, albeit lower, number of (mostly white) women stand in solidarity with this notion of victimization of young men in America.

History will remember today as a day democracy died just a little more in America. Which side will you be on?

The side we take is clear when we speak up either in support or against what I can only describe as one of the most cruel power structures ever witnessed.

But for all of those who remain silent, just remember…

This is the future you are choosing to leave behind for your daughters.

You imply that your mother’s role begins and ends with the kitchen.

You accept that your wife or partner’s role begins and ends with the bedroom.

Those who are silent will have contributed as much to the collapse of democracy and decency as the active supporter of those in power.

Silence defined women’s role in society all along.

Silence ostracized people of color in the most advanced of worlds.

Silence oppressed non-straight people in astounding ways.

Silence or action? What’s it gonna be? The choice is yours.
