Flexible Cancelation policies are on the way

Our current process is getting a major update to help simplify our cancelation policies. Currently policies are manually handled depending on the provider’s pre-set policies for their programs or space rentals. No one wants to have to read through a bunch of terms of service policies to decide what would happen if it rains on game day. So here is what we are implementing:

When our providers create a listing, they can set the amount of advance notice they need for a cancelation with a full refund. The options are, 24 hours before, 1 week before, 30 days before, or 90 days before. These will be visible on each listing page clearly for customers to know before they book.

Every time a customer cancels a booking, if it is far enough away (as defined by that policy) then a full refund will be granted. If a customer cancels within the window, no refund will be given. If a provider cancels a rental or program at any point, a full refund will be granted. The most likely scenario is an outdoor event or rental being canceled due to weather.

These new policy options will allow for a smoother process for both providers and customers, as well as improve transparency for people shopping for the right space or program for them.
