Sherpa goes Go-Karting

We have had the commercial prototype of Sherpa 150 with us for a few weeks now and it underwent similar tests as the prototype zero. However, we wanted to do something more and do longer runs at higher speeds than we have been able to do at the IISc campus. A Go-Kart track seemed like an ideal environment to do that, especially considering that there is one close to our office.

The key objectives were to analyse the drifts that we see in our localisation estimates over longer distances (turn out to be pretty good — you can see the vehicle threading the cones from where it started at the end), see our control algorithm response at various speeds (was getting better at higher speeds!) and have some fun at the Go-Karting track (I can skid a go-kart while taking turns, yea!). We were able to achieve all objectives.
