In the field of humanitarian aid services, cryptocurrencies and blockchain can make a great impact. This is why in Atix we teamed up with BitGive to impulse the efficiency donation processes in their blockchain platform, GiveTrack.

BitGive’s GiveTrack serves as one of the first donation platforms made on the Bitcoin blockchain, using RSK technology for smart contracts.

As told by Connie Gallippi, BitGive’s founder, the platform is focused on cryptocurrency donations and transparency of fund management in the blockchain.

A Different Type Of Platform

The donations platform it’s a brand new proposal in the field of humanitarian aid with crypto, making them a quite different service from other platforms in the space. “Our focus is set in leveraging the technology itself” Gallippi explained.

While other donation platforms are focused exclusively in processing donations and exchanging them for fiat currency, GiveTrack’s approach is set on extending the possibilities of cryptocurrency adoption. Atix has played its part in this process by providing an improved user experience and a more flexible way for ONG’s to add projects in the platform, which aligns with BitGive’s goals on making blockchain technology more accessible for organizations.

“We are focused on maintaining the donations in bitcoin and encouraging NGO’s to learn how to use the technology.” she says.

This new way to take on the non-profit field adds the use of blockchain as a way to ensure transparency and accountability in the donation process. According to BitGive’s founder, this is one of their cornerstones to provide a unique service. “We are pushing it a lot further than just a new way of taking donations.” Gallippi says.

Moving Forward

Currently, GiveTrack counts with an approximate of a dozen active projects collecting donations on it’s platform, but Gallippi is expecting that number to get an important boost in the near future.

“We hope to add hundreds- if not thousands more (projects) in time.”, Gallippi says. At the same time, when asked about the immediate future, the non-profit specialists assures that the goal is set in adding at least the double of projects the platform currently has. “We are hoping to add a couple dozen more for 2020,” she says.
