Fast: We embark

Day One

We all start with good intentions and sometimes those intentions fall short of where we are or what our goals will be. And I think that this is okay as long as we keep trying to be better and to improve upon the successes and failures of the day before.

My day started well. Except that I moved the fast time period closer to lunch time (3pm-4pm). I did this as I had several meetings to attend and my feeding would have occurred late into the evening as I still had to perform my workout. Suffice to say, I did not struggle till that point and calculated the flexibility of the fast to work in my favour.

The only annoyance I have is how reliant I am on Carbs and I justify it to myself that it will be okay and that it is fine. The truth is, it is okay and it is fine, but what is not aligned is what I wanted my intention to be. I’m not expecting a high-fat fast to be easy and I feel probably learn a lot more about myself as I go along this path.

Today I embark on my deadlift and pendlay row journey. These are my two favourite lift movements. Because I did not get a change to run in the evening as it was already very late, I’ve opted to place my steady-state cardio into today's program.

Tomorrow is leg day and I want to incorporate some HITT sprints to facilitate my overall running fitness. I’m still not sure that I have figured out the best pattern for running — I am speaking prematurely right now but will consider how to evaluate after today’s session.
