Are you stuck in an unsuccessful loop and want to break the cycle?

I learned the tool to do exactly this from my son.

When my son was seven years old he fractured his left knee. He was playing football in school and had an awkward fall. We were not aware of this fall until a few days later when he started limping. When we took him to the hospital, the doctor told us he needed to wear a cast for at least two months for the bone to reset.

Initially, my son was excited, his friend would get to sign on his cast, and he would be allowed some excuse in school. However, after the cast was put on he was not so happy.

The first challenge he faced was learning to walk while wearing a cast. He had to take his time and get his bearing. It was not business as usual, he could not jump around, and he had to learn to support himself with the crutches.

There were days he would get so frustrated and angry. Other days he would get so moody and cry. Then gradually he learnt to walk with the crutches. He learnt how to carry his school bag while walking, he got better at it and it became almost natural.

Then we got to the point where the skin under the cast started itching. He was really upset and would just start crying, he had mastered walking only to face the itching. I didn’t know what to do. And it was not yet time for the cast to go off.

One day I got back from work and my son was smiling, he had found a solution to the itching. He found a metal hanger and straightened it out then put a tap at the tip. This device was thin enough to slip under the cast and long enough to reach any itch. He had mastered his challenge. When he achieved this feat he became a star, his classmates were attracted to him, they would help him carry his bag, and they stood up for him if anyone so much as touched him. They wanted to sign his cast, they helped him with the crutches. They asked him questions about his experience.

The point is…

Every new venture begins from a place of learning. There is always a darkness or lack of knowledge. The mind needs to be forged into a new learning. Sometimes you will feel discouraged but it is all part of the learning process.

The cycle of success shows that what you do impacts your results, which then affect the choices you make, impacting your results.

In other words, what you put in, you take out.

The more success you have, the more you will believe you will succeed. If you have experienced success, you are more likely to feel confident and take risks, which leads to greater rewards.

The more you believe you can achieve success, the more you have the mindset and attitude to succeed, which creates the confidence you need to succeed.

The trick to achieving success always

Start in the mind. Visualize the success. In the physical body and display the confidence of an achiever, believe in the fact that you achieve success, you will achieve success in the physical. This feedback of success creates in you the confidence of an achiever and propels you to achieve more success.

Remember, the keys to success are not just groundless positive thinking. Neither is it sending out requests to the universe; it is setting yourself up to take the actions you need, to get the results you want. It is reprogramming the cycle to achieve what you want.
