5 Fun Sketch 52 Plugins!
12 Days of Sketch | Day 8
While I was writing for Day 7 Top 5 Most Useful Sketch Plugins, deciding which plugins to include and which didn’t make the cut, I kept making note of plugins that are worth a mention for just being fun! I decided to split the article into two so that those also could also have a place to shine.
#1 Plot
Snapchat for designers? With Plot you send an artboard to your team right from Sketch where it stays for 24 hours, and can be viewed just like a snap story!
#2 Emoji Autocomplete
Who doesn’t love emojis? This plugin brings the fun of emojis that you’re used to from messaging apps to Sketch too! Just type “:” followed by any letter to get suggested or targeted emojis.
#3 Key Color
Key Color is super fun, but can also come in clutch for the right use case. With this plugin, you can set your frequently used Hex values to keyboard shortcuts Control + 1–9.
Especially for designing within brand guidelines, I’ve found this one useful for quickly toggling between colors during ideation and exploration designs.
#4 Color Spark
For all your color discovery needs, Color Spark is your plugin! Control + Shift + C or G lets you filter quickly through random colors and gradients letting you find a color that fits your design quickly, without overthinking the details of saturation or value for each color choice.
#5 Icon Flower
Last, but not least, Icon Flower will take a jumbled, overlapped, pile of icons and organize them into a beautiful flower of icons!
While cute and fun, this one also has some niche, but wonderful, use cases. For example, I’ve found this helpful for quick pattern mockups in background elements. Instead of spending hours perfectly arranging the icons to repeat, if you just need a quick mockup that can be perfected later if need be, this is your plugin!
Summary
I hope you find these plugins fun, and useful too!
