Over the past 8 years, I have read 20+ books on sketchnoting and visual thinking.

Some were boring, unhelpful or even ripoffs of other books. Most were okay and a few were fantastic.

Here are the 3 I’ve enjoyed the most and never fail to give me a shot of inspiration.

Book #1: The Sketchnote Workbook by Mike Rohde

This was the book that rekindled my drawing habit.

I had tried before but the practical activities and philosophy in Mike’s book got me start.

If you want to start drawing again, give it a go.

Book #2: Presto Sketching by Ben Crothers

I discovered Ben’s book via a comment on my blog.

Ben’s book has great practical examples of how you can use simple drawing in the work place.

It’s a fantastic mix of Ideas, activities and examples.

Book #3: The Visual MBA by Jason Barron

Finally, a book without any drawing advice.

I picked up Jason’s book after hearing his podcast interview with Mike. It sounded like a great way to learn the basics of business and it was.

It is also packed with great examples to inspire your drawing.
