WHO TRAINS YOUR CHILD: you or your television?

Are you training your child or is your television doing the job? Let’s talk about how you can take an active role in your child’s education and development.

In the past, parents used to rely on nannies to take care of their children, but due to the cost of hiring qualified nannies, many can no longer afford their services. As a result, some parents turn to untrained caregivers, which can be risky for the children’s well-being and safety. It’s important to carefully monitor the caregivers and ensure that they are providing proper care and nutrition for the children.

Also before, television stations were owned exclusively by responsible governments and overseen by conscientious censor boards. These boards were accountable to the people and took their responsibilities seriously, particularly when it came to protecting the rights of children. With limited stations available, the boards worked diligently to ensure that all programs and broadcasts during children’s viewing hours were appropriate and met their standards before they were aired.

Many parents who were able to afford television sets saw them as a valuable tool to enhance their children’s education and development.

However, all of that has changed.
The rise of privately owned television stations driven by profit has brought about a significant change in the industry. Unfortunately, this change has led to the prominence of distasteful advertisements and offensive entertainment that overshadows the genuine characters, culture, and values of the people.

Can you believe it? Who in the world would do that?”

It is absolutely crucial to avoid developing negative outlooks and expecting positive outcomes. Such attitudes have severe and damaging effects on family culture and values, often leading to violent reactions against long-established beliefs and norms, both within the family and in society at large. It is imperative that we recognize the potential consequences of this kind of thinking and take proactive steps to avoid it.

Sure, here you go:
Success in life is not a coincidence, but a result of our actions. As humans, we are bound by the law of nature that states that we shall reap whatever we sow. It is up to us to sow the right seeds that will lead to a fruitful harvest.

An atmosphere of uncertainties and chaos created by consistent and deliberate negative reportage is a breeding ground for disorder and disharmony. If we truly desire to build a decent and peaceful society, we must first create an environment of stability and certainty.

On the contrary, the radio and television stations seem to prioritize selling over-reporting important news and information and educating their audience. Moreover, the censor board has failed in its duties to catch and censor certain information in common knowledge that should not

be aired. The news often covers unrest and restlessness, which raises concerns about the accuracy of their reporting. Additionally, the already questionable ratio of 75:25 or 80:20 between trivial and vital news has been called into question. This paradoxical ratio fails to adequately prioritize important educational news and is a cause for concern.

Building an egalitarian society requires a strong foundation of good and godly morals, as well as a good conscience and unwavering integrity. This foundation must start with the family and homes, where we instill these values in our children and practice them in our daily interactions. It is important to approach all aspects of life with a commitment to doing things as to the Lord, whether we are at home, at work, or in our communities. By prioritizing these values and principles, we can create a fair society, just, and truly equal for all.

Imagine a future built solely on revenue and money - a future where hope and potential are monetized and traded like commodities. It may seem enticing at first, but what happens when those assets begin to depreciate? Suddenly, the foundation of our future becomes unstable and uncertain. We cannot rely on financial gain alone to secure our future and our values. Let us invest in more stable and reliable foundations to ensure a prosperous and secure future for generations to come.

We must recognize that hope still exists, even in the face of past mistakes. By living with intention and awareness in the present, we can rebuild our family culture and values. This involves spending quality time with our children and wards, prioritizing their well-being and development as we work towards securing a brighter future. The children and youths are representative of this future, and we must take action now to ensure that it is a positive one.

As a parent or guardian, have you considered what it takes to maintain your role model status in the eyes of your children and wards? It’s not enough to just be present in their lives. You need to actively work towards remaining, retaining, and sustaining your champion status. Your efforts today will shape their future tomorrow.

It is #ChildTrainingTuesday and #ParentingTuesday.
