It’s Like Street Fighter 2 Infused With Super Time Force… Or Something Like That

Spotted over at meldowiseau is something that introduces an interesting fight game mechanic that allows one to get an assist from one’s self; the character helping you out is the one you’re currently controlling… but from a few seconds earlier. It’s hard to explain. Just watch the video. It’s pretty short!
As a sucker for any game that plays with time (see: Super Time Force), as well as any game that has “clones” (see: Ninja Gaiden 2 for the NES), this is the ultimate two hit combo I’d love to see actually implemented.
Anyhow, because last week’s game culture wrap-up showed up on a Friday, largely due to the holiday weekend that preceded it, and also cuz I’ve just been busier than usual, plus it’s been a little while since the previous installment, I’m a bit backed up! So, like a few weeks back, am gonna post just videos this time, due to the much complained about embed limit that Tumblr imposes in a single post.
So next up is a longer vid, though every minute is worth your attention, mostly due to the fact that it covers… something that admittedly everyone knows by now, which is how Michael Jackson was involved with Sonic 3 (& Knuckles). But it’s actually quite the complicated narrative and the following is the first instance I’ve seen in which all the facts (at least the ones disclosed thus far) have been complied & presented in such an easy to digest fashion…
All right, if Sonic X Michael Jackson is up your alley, then how about Mario X Paul McCartney?
Time for another fighting-related vid; for whatever reason, someone modded Kirby from Smash Bros with realistic feet. Cuz why not…
And time for another somewhat lengthy history lesson. Again, you can find many videos that covers the one of gaming’s longest running urban legends, that being Polybius, yet the Gaming Historian does an impeccable job presenting just the facts ma’am in a clear and concise manner…
Finally (for now; am gonna share more vids tomorrow, BTW/FYI), from meldowiseau once again, is GHANA COMBAT…
