Your Slightly More Accurate PlayStation 1 Demake Of Death Stranding Has Arrived

A few days ago, the video above by @Bearskopff made the rounds among all the major gaming sites, one that reimagines Hideo Kojima’s upcoming PS4 release for the PSX.

And it looks… fine, totally fine. A bit off, for sure, though not in some offensive manner. It’s certainly not like those YouTube vids that were all the rage at a certain point, which claimed to reproduce famous movies scenes in “8-bit”, yet the sprites clearly exhibited 16-bit-esque properties.

But then, just this morning, the following showed up on my Twitter feed. Courtesy of @Hoolopee is another take, but one that feels a tad bit more authentic…

… Perhaps it’s unfair to compare fake gameplay footage to fake cinematics, though I think it’s fair to state that the first video certainly resembles a PlayStation 1 game… but not necessarily a PlayStation 1 game with Kojima’s fingerprints on them.
