Meet Bozhidar Tsvetkov, a freshman from Blagoevgrad with a keen interest in the fields of Mathematics and Computer Science. Since High School, Bozhidar has always been interested in the field of math, finding the reasons why certain things are happening. As a participant in the Polygon club, he fills his time by studying programming languages, hanging out with friends, and training martial arts.

Bozhidar also feels like there aren’t enough students that are emphasizing on math. Many fields require some mathematical knowledge and people are missing out on the possibility to become better at their specialty. Bozhidar says that, even for general life situations, not being able to work out your taxes or compound interest would cause for a sticky problem.

Although Bozhidar has a family background of artists, he is orienting himself towards fields like Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis. He wants to put all his mathematical skills to good use. “These parts of software development require math and I think it’s going to be a waste if I know a lot about math and end up as front-end web developer. I mean, what’s the point in knowing mathematics and not utilizing it?”

As a fan of thrillers and dramas, Bozhidar likes to watch movies based on real life events. One such as example is “The Zodiac” — a movie about a serial killer who is still unknown till this day. He believes that in these type of movies, you get to see amazing stories, that you wouldn’t believe otherwise.

Bozhidar also likes to train in his free time, as he is a black belt in the Korean martial art of Taekwondo. “What’s unique about Taekwondo is that there are a ton of different kicks. No other martial art has so many kicks. You can literally kick in any direction. That makes it stand out.” He took upon this activity since Preschool, all the way up until his senior year in High School. Currently, he is taking a change of pace, as he is giving boxing a shot.

Bozhidar aims at developing himself by studying additional materials for Computer Science, with a current goal of learning Python so that he can then transition to more advanced materials, like AI. He hopes that after AUBG, he would get a job and work for a little bit before doing a Masters degree.

Martin Nestorov is an enthusiast in conspiracy theories involving both fictional and real life events.
