Who is Dobromir Dobrev? A 19-year-old musician, a sportsman, fun seeker, a new face in the AUBG community. He wants to take advantage of all opportunities provided to him by the university.

Being part of the Rock Jamming Club, Dobromir met a lot of new and interesting people. “In high school, I was shy, modest, distant, and now it is the opposite, I can talk with anyone, I don’t feel any pressure as I did before,” he says.

Feeling more mature and grown-up compared to his teen years, Dobromir embarks on this adventure called university. Whether researching the world market or tuning his guitar strings, he is always giving a hundred percent of his attention.

“Here, you can choose by yourself what to do, how to fulfill your time,” Dobromir says. He recently learned how to drive a skateboard. He shoots hoops after lectures to clear his mind. His musical upbringing with Bulgarian rock bands, such as Poduene Blus Band and Control, ignited his passion for the acoustic guitar. He has been playing since first grade and now, he is focused on mastering the drums.

As a profession, Dobromir has set his mind on another sphere — economics. “Social problems have always been of interest to me,” he says. Dobromir enjoys teamwork, he values other people’s views. He discovered this personal trait while being part of an Erasmus program in high school. Dobromir worked in an Italian company for a month, where he learned about the dynamics of a busy working day. This experience polished up his self-image.

Dobromir plans to put this knowledge into practice while being on Work and Travel in the U.S.A the following summer. He imagines himself living abroad, but his heart and soul stay in Bulgaria. This was one of the reasons why he did not choose to go to a Russian university, although he is fond of that culture and community.

Dobromir wants to be better in all aspects of life, guided by his father’s words, “strive for good”. This motto encourages him to try his best in everything he does.
