Georgi Nikola Trayanov, nicknamed Geni, is a freshman studying Business Administration and is part of the AUBG Business Club and the Broadway Performance Club, also known as the musical. He is a creative individual with many qualities, humanitarian nature and has passion for what he does.

He comes from Petrich, a small town in south-west Bulgaria. In his primary and middle school years, he spent most of his time playing sport, mainly soccer. He picked up the guitar in the fifth grade and started learning. Later, he played in a band in his school and performed on the closing ceremony celebrating the end of the academic year at his school. He felt amazing and accomplished performing for his peers.

The guitar is not the only passion he has in his life. Singing professionally in the past two years has also been a creative outlet for him. Being around people, making music and being involved with art are the things that brought him to join the AUBG Broadway Performance Club. He shares that if it wasn’t for his creative side, life would be too boring.

As a performer, he shared some advice about stage fright. People mustn’t ask themselves if they’re good enough or doubt their ability. The easiest solution to doubting yourself is to dive into the moment and perform. “When the mind is silent, you can feel with your soul. That is the truest experience of all,” he said.

He prefers not to plan ahead and career-wise he does not know what he wants to do but he knows that he will continue doing whatever brings happiness to him.

In contrast to his artistic persona, he is studying business and is part of the AUBG Business Club. Recently they had an event, Gallery of Success, which was difficult to organize but he was very excited about. He felt that all his hard work paid off in the end.

By studying Business Administration, he wants to contribute to Bulgaria after his graduation. With his humanitarian nature and business-oriented thinking, he wants to make a start-up company which will give value back to the community and show the people that Bulgaria is not that bad of a country to live in and develop a business.

When asked about his biggest flaw he interrupted me with his answer. His impatience has always been a problem, but he has figured out how to channel this energy to be productive. His core belief is that everything happens for a reason.
