Yoana Blagova considers herself a very positive, funny, talkative person, who is fearless when it comes to approaching strangers.

“If you tell me to go and speak with this person, I will go. Doesn’t matter if I know them.”

Yoana is 19 and comes from Sofia. Ever since 10th grade, she has dreamed about getting accepted to AUBG. She considers getting accepted here her biggest accomplishment. “I worked very hard. I decided to study here when I was in 10th grade after I participated in the Multi Talent Quest hosted in AUBG.”

While thinking of how to make her CV better, Yoana discovers a passion of hers — volunteering. “I started volunteering in a charity organization. I wanted to look like a socially engaged person, but by starting it I found another passion — the volunteering. Now I like it a lot.” Working with kids from orphanages makes her grateful for her life and the opportunities she has. One day she dreams of making a donation to this charity organization. “When I have a job and money in the future, I want to donate like $10,000 to the charity.”

Another passion of hers, Yoana discovers in 1st grade when her mother signed her for a folklore dancing course. Ever since she has been dancing in different clubs and today she is a part of AUBG’s Samodiva Club. She also frequently goes to Zumba and Kango Jumps classes.

“This is my thing — dancing. I prefer sports related to dancing and moving — unconventional sports, not traditional.”

Already engaged with the AUBG community and clubs, she decided to become a Student Ambassador. Yoana believes it is very useful, as she decided to study Political Science. If she doesn’t proceed with a career in Politics, she would like to be a journalist or a public relations agent. It is her personal wish. “When I was 2–3 years old, my favorite thing was to watch the BTV News. I’ve always admired the journalist Ani Salich and always told myself I will become the next Salich.” She even jokes about becoming AUBG new public relations agent, if she gets hired.

Yoana calls herself calm, confident and self-motivated. She always strives for something better and wants a future in Bulgaria. “I want to stay in Bulgaria, but I want to have a job that would allow me to travel abroad and meet new cultures, experience new things. I want to have a good career and a strong family.”
