Fortnite’s island is under attack! A strange army of aliens is invading, at Doctor Slone’s hands. Dubbed the Imagined Order (IO), all the characters have taken it upon themselves to fight back. While battling, meet all sorts of new playable characters who are ready to fight, defend, or simply just chill. The fate of the island is in your hands!

Be sure to read all the latest updates so you can get an edge over the competition before heading into battle.

New Map Zones

Fortnite’s Season 7 map is similar to previous seasons, albeit with some new locations adopting the alien theme. However, the central central point of the map has changed once again.

The new named locations, which only appear when you visit for the first time, are as follows:

  • Corny Complex (previously Colossal Crops)
  • Believer Beach (previously Sweaty Sands)

Be sure to check out the new landmarks which aren’t named on the map, such as The Aftermath — in the very centre of the map, previously named The Spire.

Hijack a UFO

New to Season 7, Fortnite UFOs are a new vehicle type, which can hover high above the map, abduct objects and players, and fire projectiles onto the ground.

By simply letting a UFO abduct you, you can easily hijack a UFO. Once you’re pulled onto the UFO, attack the pilot and try to make it out! Don’t worry if the UFO crashes. You’ll still be able to hijack it from the ground.

Though the size of the UFO makes you an easy target, you can just boost and fire projectiles, keeping your adversaries on edge. Projectiles are solid weapons, as once you manage to land one and send an enemy flying, you can keep chaining attacks to seriously disorient them.

Even if you’re not into using them to battle, they’re a seriously fun addition to this season.

New Weapons

In Season 7, three new weapons were introduced to the game. They are as follows, with blurbs provided from the official Fortnite website:

  • Pulse Rifle: “An invention from the IO, the self-proclaimed Island defenders. The IO brags this weapon is effective whether aiming down sights or not. Reliability is its key feature, they claim.”
  • Recon Scanner: “Survey an area from a safe distance by firing its Recon Bolts, which mark all opponents (and Chests) in its diameter. There’s a limited amount of Bolts you can have out at a time, but don’t worry about finding more: the Recon Scanner regenerates Bolts automatically.”
  • Rail Gun: “This sniper can shoot through surfaces, but this breakthrough is balanced out by its visible targeting beam. Not a surprise from the IO, it does extra damage against Saucers.”

Crafting Redefined

With the arrival of UFOs, comes nuts and bolts, adding a new crafting dynamics to the Island. With these new features, you can craft familiar weapons from the past. Combine Nuts and Bolts with any Assault Rifle for a Burst Assault Rifle, with any Submachine Gun for a Rapid Fire SMG, and with any Shotgun for a Lever Action Shotgun.

These craftable weapons don’t have pre-built versions to pick up, so collect any Nuts and Bolts you come across.

Character Creator

In Season 7's battle pass, the immediate unlock is the customizable Kymera outfit — an alien specimen for you to sculpt. Throughout the season, collect alien artifacts to claim additional styles for Kymera. Mix & match different head shapes, eye colors, skin patterns, and more to create your own look. Explore Kymera’s style combinations, the return of Battle Stars, and the rest of the rewards in-game via the Battle Pass.
