Exclusive Preview: be the first to discover the audio metaverse platform

With this inaugural post, we’re very excited to finally reveal what the Cubemint platform will look like! Let’s go through the user experience step by step.

The physical world is mapped out

Opening Cubemint the app will ask to use your location. This is the first step in connecting your physical reality to the audio metaverse. Accepting this allows you to explore the augmented audio cubes around your physical location and connect instantly to any cubes that are available to you.

Explore Cubes in the world

The audio metaverse is made up of independent spaces called “Cubes”. They are sized 5 by 5 meters and represent an actual location in the real world (what is the “real world”? What is “real”? Don’t get us started).

Move around the map and enter a Cube of your choice or travel to one of the Cubes you own, listed in the yellow bar at the bottom of your screen. You can own a Cube by minting them, a feature we’re looking to put in place in the near future.

Welcome in the Cube

You’ve entered a Cube for the first time, so what’s next? Whether you’re in a space where you experience a setting by the ocean, the top of a mountain or somewhere in a galaxy far, far away, the spatial audio technology creates a deeply immersive experience allowing you and your friends to really explore the space. There is also an interactive element to the augmented audio spaces: you can create and mint audio NFTs. You’re free to interact with all these elements and friends but it is also a place for people who want to get away and have some quiet time for themselves. The Cubes are always-on so you can enter them at any time.

What is new?

Our most recent update includes:

  • New spatial sound experiences: the way you hear sounds such as voices and emote reactions change depending your position and distance to others
  • Moving around: decide on your direction using a double finger swipe up, down, left or right and move into your chosen direction with a single swipe.
  • New interaction features: express your emotions with the emoji reaction panel on the bottom of the screen. They come with matching sounds.

What are we working on?

You can expect the following updates over the next few months:

  • Space customization: add your own sounds to the library of the Cube to create a unique and personal Cube atmosphere
  • Motion detecting: we are exploring ways to use the gyro sensors built into current earbuds to create a more immersive experience while you’re in the Cube
  • Crypto wallet connection: store your Cubemint crypto to your connected wallet
  • Mint feature: if you find a Cube or audio NFT from a Cube you want to add to your crypto collection, you can mint them

We’ll share Cubemint Notes with you twice a month so stay tuned!
