Users in the Audio Metaverse will be able to interact in augmented reality built on sound.

Doki Doki Inc. has created an Audio Metaverse, which integrates the physical world into the virtual world through sound. Each space will have a corresponding non-fungible token (NFT), which ensures that each asset is unique and can be verified as authentic.

Own Audio Spaces as Digital Assets with NFTs

“The entire world will be mapped out and divided into Cubes that you can own, buy, and sell,” says Doki Doki CEO Takahito Iguchi. “Even when we’re apart, we can still get the experience of being together in the same place.”

The owner of the cube can play music, sing, host discussions and anyone entering that physical space will hear what’s going on. Spatial Audio technology makes the spaces feel natural and lifelike, with individual users being assigned a position in 3D sound. Each space also has a URL associated with it, so users can also enter the audio space remotely and interact with the people at the actual location.

Physical spaces are replicated through their atmosphere sounds in the audio metaverse, so online users can still interact with others in an environment that closely resembles being together.

The augmented audio reality gives musical artists and creators a new place to create, but also a brand new medium to express themselves in. In the audio space, the mode of expression becomes the content, and as the space gains in popularity through the art, it also increases in value.

The Audio Metaverse is a product in development while we get ready for an invite-only beta test.
