Short update: Yesterday (March 29th), Apple released iOS 11.3 and along with it comes an upgrade that increases the quality of 3D objects you see in AR experiences and ups the resolution of the camera recording those objects to 1080p.

It will be great to see more detail when previewing a toaster on your countertop before buying through your Amazon app.

Or when you want to show off a T-Rex walking through your neighborhood on twitter, it will look even scarier.

An upgrade to visual fidelity creates more immersive experiences — this is referred to as invisible user experience design. So when kids are playing with a very Hungry Caterpillar, they will subconsciously feel more connected to the game and will spend more time learning about and interacting with the augmented world around them.

Hopefully we can look forward to a 4K upgrade in the next release!
