More than 100 recruitment and talent acquisition professionals from some of the largest employers in the country were in attendance, which enriched the experience and insights delivered by our great speakers.

We took an in-depth look at one of the most powerful recruitment channels, social media, and how hiring strategies & techniques have changed over the years. Here’s the summary of the speakers and the topics they covered:

To start the discussion, Pratik Sabherwal from employer branding specialist Universum highlighted the importance of localizing content; and how to balance local relevance and global consistency in doing recruitment branding and marketing.

Next, Gabriel Del Carmen of Tribal Worldwide, a global advertising agency, talked about the similarities of the recruitment funnel and marketing funnel, and how to effectively target the audience using the different social media channels.

We left plenty of time for socializing, and took a coffee and snacks break before heading into the next sessions.

The second half of the learning session was started by Marvin Vinluan of Alorica, which employs over 35,000 people in the Philippines alone. Marvin shared valuable insights from their social media advertising and how they have adapted to the different hiring trends in the market.

Next, startup veteran Christopher Starr from Snippet Media talked about harnessing the power of networks in increasing the employers’ brand value and how we can use social media to augment companies’ employee referral program.

Lastly, Talkpush’s Head of Conversational Design, Christina Adamidou, discussed how we can personalize candidate experience using AI (artificial intelligence) and chatbot technology, and how human and AI should work hand in hand to provide the best candidate experience.

Thanks to all attendees to the event, who made this one of the liveliest, most interactive “Recruitment Hackers” we have ever held. We’re definitely looking forward to the next one!
