Today came a negative response from the Open Technology Fund (OTF). Funding would have allowed Aura to work on activist outreach full-time and with experienced professionals.
That was the bad news and it wasn’t completely unexpected. After all the funding proposal was the first one ever written and apparently lacking a few key points.
The good news is that OTF find the project intriguing and wants to help addressing the open concerns. It’s rather easy to address most of the concerns and what remains is that OTF favors funding a solution with proven product-market-fit. That makes a lot of sense and highlights the need to soon start working with activists to set up a successful pilot project.
The excitement for the first real-world application is now even bigger than before. :)
