Drink This In: Aura + charity: water
663 million people in the world live without clean water. Think about that number for a minute. That’s twice the population of the United States. It’s really mind boggling.
And clean water really changes everything. Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence. 43% of those deaths are children under five years old. Access to clean water and basic sanitation can save over 800,000 people a year.
The good news, we know how to fix this problem — the only thing missing is money and supplies…and that’s where charity: water comes in. charity: water is an organization dedicated to solving the world’s water crisis by creating sustainable drinking wells in locations that need clean drinking water. One of the great things about charity: water is that 100% of your donations go toward giving someone clean drinking water, and none of your donation goes to the overhead of running the organization.
Today is World Water Day, a day dedicated to solving the world’s water crisis, and I am honored to announce that Aura has partnered with charity: water to create a limited edition crystal blue smart frame. We’ve only produced 500 of them, and the back of each frame is engraved with it’s specific production number. Most importantly though, we will be donating $60 back to charity: water for every frame sold. The $30,000 raised will go toward funding three hand-dug wells for three different communities in need.
Also, once a month, we will publish a new photo to your frame that was taken by an on-site charity: water photographer. We will follow up the picture with an email that tells the story behind the photo and what clean drinking water means for that person — just giving you a quick non-spammy reminder about why this cause is so important.
