We Aussies are proud of our heritage, and of our young country. But, if you’re planning to visit our wonderful land, it’s important to understand some of our weird and astonishing laws.

You Can’t Keep A Rabbit As A Pet In Queensland

Bunnies are cute, and they are the perfect pet for a young child. But, keeping rabbits as pets in QLD is an offence under the Land Protection (Pest & Stock Route Management) Act 2002. If you get caught, you could earn a maximum penalty of $44,000 and six months’ imprisonment.

Don’t Walk On The Right Side Of The Footpath

Here in Australia, we drive on the left side of the road, the same is said of walking on footpaths. You could be fined if you walk on the right side of a busy footpath. Police officers have the right to stop you and give you a fine.
