The 2019 Austin Anthem Holiday Party, Toys for Tots Drive, and FIFA Tournament

Remember 2018? Back before Austin FC, back before any shovels lay upon McKalla Place, and back before a Minister joined the Austin soccer craze?
Yeah, it’s been a pretty big year for Austin FC and Austin Anthem. Y’all are cordially invited to our sixth ever holiday party. While there’s no MLS Cup to watch, we’re ramping up the entertainment and giveaways — and featuring our first FIFA tournament with prizes.
But First, A Word From Our Supporters Section
This event wouldn’t be possible without support from our Austin community, so we’d like to say thank you to organizations who have helped us out with this event:
The Skinny
- Saturday, December 7th.
- Kickoff is 6pm.
- Location is Haymaker, 2310 Manor Rd.
- Kids are welcome.
- Merch table on-site for holiday gifting (to yourself and others) needs.
- No ticket needed, though we do have a pint glass deal (details below)
Transportation
- Parking is available on-site, and on marked streets south of Manor Rd and north along 32nd St. Please observe the signage, particularly along Cherrywood Rd itself, as most of it is residential permits. Don’t park in front of the automotive shop or at the strip mall next door.
- Capital Metro serves Haymaker via the 20 — Manor Rd/Riverside and 322 — Chicon/Cherrywood routes.
- Manor Rd has bike lanes, but they are not physically separated from vehicular traffic.
- Fastest rideshare drop-off and pickup is in the parking lot or along Cherrywood Rd. Don’t block traffic on Manor Rd.
The Toy Drive and Giveaway
We’re also continuing our commitment to supporting our local community by collecting presents for the Toys for Tots organization. Bring a toy (or a few) to Haymaker on Saturday, and you’ll get a ticket to take home some great prizes, including:
- $50 Haymaker gift card
- 4 lower bowl tickets to the University of Texas vs Central Michigan basketball game on December 14th
- Upper Ninety Jersey
- FIFA 20 (one for PlayStation 4, one for Xbox One)
- 2 Trail of Lights ZIP tickets

One ticket per toy, up to 5 tickets per person.

The Pint Glass
Just like last year, we’re doing a fantabulous deal where you get a limited edition pint glass featuring the Haymaker bear and the grackle. They’re on opposite sides of the glass so they don’t fight. As with last year, you’ll get the first beverage of the night with your purchase.
Order it online and pick it up on Saturday.
The FIFA Tournament
Two eight player tournaments will square off throughout the night for a chance at an Austin Anthem swag pack and a Kindle Fire tablet. We’ll crown two champions, one on Xbox and one on PlayStation. The champion with the best goal differential will be able to choose first.
It will be a single elimination tournament for both consoles. Space is limited to 16 people, so be sure to keep checking this space for registration details.
We’ll bring the controllers, console, and game. If you want to bring your own controller, you are welcome to do so.

Please note this is an on-site event and if you do not check in with us at Haymaker by 6:15pm, we will open up the registration to on-site registrants.
Expected ruleset:
- Difficulty: World Class
- 5 minute halves
- Classic ET — two, “15 minute” OT periods, then penalty kicks
- League: Major League Soccer, latest roster update
First round is scheduled for kickoff at 6:30pm, with the finals scheduled for about 9pm.

State of the Grackle Speech and Year in Review
Chief Zanate Josh Babetski will have some remarks for all in attendance around 8:30pm, taking a look back at our progress through the year and what next year has in store.
We’re incredibly grateful for all your work this year in support of soccer in Austin and Austin Anthem as we approach Major League Soccer in our city.
