If it comes to the day trips from Tbilisi, weekend getaways or long holiday destinations, Borjomi is the first one crossing to my mind with so many opportunities for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

  1. Trekking / Hiking at Borjomi-kharagauli National Park

Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park has 12 trails, arranged with support from the German Government and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Tourist route network is up to 400–2,642 meters and allows hiking for one or several days.. Paths are marked and well-arranged. Tourist shelters, picnic spots and camping sites are arranged along the routes. Sites for setting up a fire are also allocated. The routes function throughout the year.

2. Biking at Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park — Adrenaline junkie’s paradise :)

Whether you prefer trail riding or challenging cycling adventures, you won’t find a more unique spot to ride your bike than Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. so do not miss the chance to check it out these bike paths thru the park on two wheels. the paths offers stunning views, challenging climbs and cycling adventures you wont easily forget.

3. Rafting opportunities on Mtkvari River

There are two options of the start point — village Kvabiskhevi and the area of Chitakhevi dam. Rafting on Mtkvari River at Borjomi costs about $ 20 p.p The price includes: rafting boat, rafting equipment (rafting jackets, helmets, shoes), the assistance of rafting instructor. Each rafting boat accommodates 6 persons and an instructor. Discounts are available for large groups.

4. Horsback Riding

It ’s hard to imagine a more thrilling way to explore Borjomi-Kharagauli national parks than on horseback.

There are riding options here to suite every interest and experience level. Many roads and trails throughout the National Park are open to horseback riding, and the park publishes a handy guide to help you plan your trip, including places where you can ride, camp, and let your animal graze.

It is so important to let your guide know about your past riding experience so he/she can team you up with the best horse possible.

5. Snow shoes

There are two Snow Shoes Trails that take you through evergreen forests covered by snow. One is 6 km, takes 4 hours and is of average difficulty, though the route can be shortened. The second Snow Shows Trail is 15.5 km and takes place over 2 days, starting on the first day at the Likani guard station taking on average 6–7 hours, the second day starts from Chitakhevi guard station back to Likani, taking an average 5–6 hours.
